TMZ reported Thursday that Paddock booked two rooms at the Blackstone Hotel, located across the street from Chicago's Grant Park, during the same period as the four-day festival. "I knew Stephen Paddock as a kind, caring, quiet man. I loved him and hoped to have a quiet future with him". Claire McCaskill, D-Missouri, told ABC News. "LVMPD detectives have made contact with her and do not believe she is involved with the shooting on the strip". While he had been buying guns for years, Paddock purchased a majority of them (33) over the past year. She was out of the country the night the shooting happened. Paddock was living a secret life, which will not be understood ever.
Paddock's reservations began Aug. 1 and 3, according to the reports, and Lollapalooza began on Aug. 3.
Her lawyer, Matt Lombard, said Danley was "fully cooperating" with the investigation.
"The FBI has coordinated with the Philippine office of the Interpol to look for her", NBI spokesman Nick Suarez told AFP.
Chicago Police issued this response via Twitter. As for what may have set Paddock off, retired FBI profiler Jim Clemente speculated that there was "some sort of major trigger in his life - a great loss, a breakup, or maybe he just found out he has a terminal disease". Both had children from prior relationships. Please respect my privacy and my family's privacy.
But others suggested there was a darker side to their relationship. Paddock, an avid high stakes gambler, first met Danley when she worked as a hostess in a Reno, Nev. casino. "Jet fuel itself sitting there in a big wet pile is very hard to ignite".
The Dallas Morning News reports Paddock once managed an apartment complex in Mesquite.
She described her sister as "a good person and gentle soul", and said she "seemed madly in love with Steve".
"It wasn't that they were unfriendly".
Some of Stephen Paddock's old neighbors say they only saw him a handful of times and didn't interact with him much.
